Sewing cabinet construction

Gord and I are having a quiet Easter - no children home. We're getting a big snowstorm! I can't sew either as my sewing cabinet is under construction. Gord has cut a hole in my cheap cabinet in order to add the insert I ordered. This will bring my machine down and make for more comfortable sewing. I can't wait to try it.

In the picture, the machine is still sitting on top but you can see the hole is cut in the cabinet and you can just see some of the shelf underneath that he added to hold the machine.
So, for today, I'm knitting and doing some odd bits of handwork.
By the way, I've just purchased an I Pad 2 and I'm learning to use it. I wrote my bog post on it this morning but I couldn't figure out how to add the picture that I took with the I Pad. I read up on Google a bit about how to do it but I'm still not sure what is the best way. Does anyone out there write posts from their I Pad?

You're going to love having your machine at the right level for sewing. It means you will be able to sew for longer periods of time without your shoulders getting all tensed up! Wow...you are already quite productive, what's going to happen then? :)) Sounds like a nice, enjoyable Easter you're having and congratulations on getting the IPad.

I'm always tweaking my sewing/playroom. This will certainly help you. A quiet day here as well. Hmm, maybe I should tweak the palyroom!!! lol

I wish I could help you with that one!!! Would love to have an iPad to play with! That insert will be great for free motion stitching as you will have a larger flat surface to sew on. More snow??!!??

The cabinet is going to be wonderful! I don't use an iPad but have posted with my little iPod.........there is a free blogger application you can download from itunes that makes posting easier.

Looks like a great solution! I think you will just love it. I haven't yet used the ipad for blogging alot... I can publish if the blog is always drafted, but haven't figured out how to add pics! Gotta read up... you're on the right track, I'msure.
