a colorful weekend

A snow storm was predicted for late yesterday and during the night, so we did some errands and visited my in laws early yesterday instead of today. Today, the sun is shining and we may only have gotten about 6 inches of snow. It is cold and very windy though, so not perfect to go out snow shoeing. Gord just went out to start the snow blowing, and I'm going shortly to do the walks and steps which will be my bit of exercise for the day.
While at the store yesterday,I picked up some roses for Valentine's Day. I'm not usually much for roses , but the colors of these caught my eye.

The only other thing I've had time for was to rinse out my ice dyed fabric. I tried several shots under different lighting, but the color is still not quite right. The blue is softer and the yellows are more green gold. The patterns are produced by making accordion folds in the fabric before laying it in the container with the ice.
I find it quite beautiful but have no design plans for it yet.

I think the ice dyeing turned out great.
