3 borders and auditioning more

This is one of those weeks filled with appointments, so I'm not as productive as I might be. There are weeks like that. I'm posting this morning with the little bit I've done because I'm heading out for my swim, even though we're getting 5-10 cm of snow. I have another appointment this afternoon. Tomorrow morning is the dentist for a cleaning, Friday the doctor.
I always get stalled on the borders; does anyone else? I speed along on a little piece of printing and stitching and then I can't make up my mind what to do with it. I've manged to add 3 borders and laid out how I think the rest will go. I believe it will be a wall hanging as the flowers seem to go that way. I'm not usually a lace person, although I like to use it in printing for texture, but I remembered this bag of scraps that I  was given, and when I tried this little piece on the border it said yes to me. The light isn't perfect; it's cloudy and snowing today. I have it laid out on my sewing table and I had to climb up on a chair to get the picture.

I think this piece is a bit different for me. While I used the same methods for mono printing, the colors are more subdued than my usual pieces, I think. When I start a piece I don't have a full vision of how it will look; I choose my theme as in the cosmos on this one, and then I choose some colors. After that  a lot is done following my intuition.
I thought you might also like to see my latest knitting project. I love to cast on an afghan that is easy and knit all in one piece. I'm knitting this in Paton's Decor which is acrylic with 25% wool. It makes it wearable but still has the warmth of wool. It is a very easy pattern which some may recognition. I have it jotted on a scrap, and have no idea where it came from. If anyone would like the pattern let me know. It is a 4 row repeat with only one row of pattern in it.
I'm linking to the Needle and Thread Network today for WIP Wednesday. Go on over and take a look at all the quilting and stitching going on.

Your knitting is very nice...I used to knit for the boys when they were little. I find now; it makes me tense...I guess because I don't do it enough. Every stitch gets tighter and tighter....lol.

Your fabric piece is wonderful...I think less border is best; show off your piece more; for me anyway;snowing here...suppose to get 15-20 by morning. staying inside today..off the roads.

Your work is wonderful, watching your slide show. I love your banner too. I find as soon as your site shows, that a wash of relaxation flows from above, like a gentle shower. Thank you.

I'm excited to see how this current work will progress. I like the lace too. Lace is easy to overdo but this is perfect.

Beautiful piece, Holly! I love how the lace gives the border an asymmetrical look.

Yes, the lace adds something. I'm also wondering if the less is more might work better than the brighter borders. I'm not a huge fan of borders so...
