Quiet Thursday

I seem to have caught a bit of a cold, so far only a sore throat. Luckily today was a stay at home day anyway, but I still have to take it easy. With Addison's I'm supposed to double my cortisone for a few days and I hate that, so I take a little less and try to rest.
This morning I took my tea and cough drops to the computer where I did some quick sketches of plovers from last summers photos.

Sorry, it's not very distinct. I was doing them quickly and didn't do them dark enough.
I even tried one again with the Paper 53 Ap.
I'm preparing to try doing some watercolors for a friend who wants a series of 3 for her cottage.

After lunch, I took the time to re-orient the centre strip in the tulip runner so that now the 3 of them run in kind of a zig zag patter. I didn't like it with them all slanting in the same direction.

I cut a backing and a batting and believe I will do do it envelope style. Hopefully, I'll be able to loosely quilt it without too much shifting.
I think I'll just stipple around the tulips but not sure yet what I'll do with the blocks. I'm open to suggestions. I'll probably do some variation of straight lines.

For the ret of the day, I plan to watch another Downton Abbey episode and read.

Looks great Holly! Anxious to see your finished project. I love water colours too, especially beacy ones! Looking forward to those.
