Rainy week

Wet weather is expected for most of this week, so I guess it's a good thing that circumstances have kept me from going up to the rental cabins at Portage lake. I've also still got half my plants and veggies to get potted and sown. The osteoarthritis and the shoulder tear is slowing me down. Hubby is helping me a little here and there and when weather permits I give myself ten minutes at a time to plant something.

Just before my lunch, the sun popped out so I went out and put a few beets into the raised bed. After lunch, while my tea steeped, I stuck two zucchini plants into the garden by my back door. Slow and steady wins the race. I guess it was very apt that I chose the turtle as my totem this year.

Lunch was a tuna salad with my own sprouted lentils and a bran cranberry muffin.

Since I had planned to take traditional sewing projects to the cabin, I decided to give myself some time for finishing up a baby quilt today.

The brown with bunnies on the left will either be a narrow border or a binding. I think I'll wait to see what the sex of my daughter's baby might be. I could add borders for a larger quilt or leave it as is.

Im stretched out on the sofa as I write and I'll probably stay here a while, maybe read or pick up some knitting. Being kind to myself and accepting my limits.

This is an afghan I'm working on. More teals and turquoise to come.

It's a rainy week here too and my gardening chores are still waiting. Haven't even started the veg. garden yet. Haven't planted any flower seeds as I'm scared they'll just wash out... We need some sun!

We are waiting for rain after breaking multiple temperature records over the weekend! I'm sorry but 34 at the end of May is too HOT! Thank goodness for potable a/c.

Your little quilt and gardens are lovely. Enjoy your views.

It was rainy here on Monday and Tuesday due to a weak tropical storm, I was out working so I could not stay at home and be cozy. Love that knitting the colors work well together.

Your yard looks like the perfect spot for a cup of tea and relaxing. It's beautiful. The baby quilt is adorable. I love the fabrics. The afghan is going to be gorgeous. I'm crazy about your colour choices for it.
