A little free motion on a Gelli print
Well, I've gotten the neuropathy under control, I think, with the latest increase of gabapentin. Feeling more comfortable. The last couple of days I've had a bit of a raw throat and feel a bit tired, maybe a cold. Hopefully it will pass.
I had some book work to catch up too, so I haven't done any sewing until today. I struggled a bit with the vinyl front bag from last post. Then, I decided I must try doing a little free motion on a Gelli print.
It's a small piece and it was easy to do without taxing the shoulder.
I stopped when the bobbin ran out of thread.
It was so fun to do even just a little! It measures 7" by 10". I'm going too batt it after the free motion and do some hand work. Can't wait!
Before my surgery, I ordered a new book which I've been slowly devouring.
There are a lot of different artists and styles featured, some very different from mine.
Lots of eye candy and inspiration to try out some new ideas. I love the idea above of including the sketches. The prints I do, but I have a hard time with raw edges coming from a quilting background. I'm learning to let it go.
And lastly, Happy Valentine's from my Ollie.

Glad you're feeling better. I hope you shake the cold (or whatever) quickly. Loving the quilting!
Good to read that the increased med has helped and fingers crossed that you don't down with a cold.
I was interested to see that you had this book, the Batsford publishers turn out some beauties. I don't have this particular one, does it focus on thread work and textile printing rather than quilting?
Good news about the shoulder. Your little project looks like the right size to slowly get back into it.
I'm loving your free motion work. The book looks wonderful. I still have gift cards from Christmas....mmmmm...that one will go on my wish list. If you don't already have them, you should check out some of the embroidery books by Jane Nicholas.
Ollie is adorable !!
I'm glad to hear that someone besides myself has a bit of trouble with raw edges ! I'm not a quilter but I was taught to 'finish'.
Hope tour shoulder gets well soon.
