Looks like Christmas

I got a call from the Georges Dumont hospital in Moncton on Monday. They had a cancellation for arthroscopic knee surgery. I was at the grocery store and had 45 minutes to decide. With my husband away it was a dilemma bu when the reception said they're booking from 2013 I made the quick decision to pack up and drive the two hours.

I missed the storm by a day.

My sister and brother in law graciously took me in. I missed having my husband there yesterday, however, I was happy to get it done. I had a large tear in the miniscus.

My sister in law picked me up and I'm managing with a pair of borrowed crutches. This is what I woke up to this morning.

The view from the bedroom window.

Hubby is flying home today and has booked the bus here tomorrow morning. We will drive home in the afternoon.

I can't wait!

I may not be doing much sewing for a couple weeks, so therefore I may not post much. Of course it was my right knee. Not sure if I could sew with left.

I'll be forced to sit and enjoy the season. No more decorating and no more baking. If it wasn't for the pain and the crutches it would be perfect! I can drink tea, knit and read!

I have been using my left foot on the pedal for over 10 years. There isn't much of an adjustment to do it. It isn't as bad as trying to write with your non-dominant hand. I'm glad they had an opening that you were able to take.

The Christmas I had surgery the week before was a very laid back Christmas. I wasn't planning to have surgery. No baking, kids decorated. Meals came. And I shopped online. It was a different Christmas but not stressful since I couldn't do anything about it!
I read a lot and slept. The pain was the least fun thing and laughing hurt so I tried not to watch funny movies.
Glad you could get a cancelation. I took the spot the surgeon offed because no one wanted to have surgery before Christmas. I just wanted it done.
Have a restful time and may your recovery go quickly.

When opportunities arise, sometimes it is best to take them. It might not have been the most convenient time for your surgery but now you can get on with healing your knee. Perhaps you can do some painting or hand sewing. Get better soon Holly.

What a delightful view to wake up to. So glad you made the decision to do the surgery and yout family was there to help you through the initial recovery.

Several years ago I was non weight bearing due to heel surgery on my right foot. I got a small folding camp chair to use as a rest when sitting at the dining table or at my sewing machine. Left foot sewing came easy. The chair was also very east to take along when out for a visit.

All the best on your recovery, take care in the snow and ice.
