A bag and working on the cow.

I started following a blogger called 'agile jack' after I talked to a friend who was making a bag following her tutorial. She uses orphan blocks and 'crumbs' of bright color fabrics as well as some black and whites to make what she calls a Frankenbag. 

I took one of my Gelli prints off my wall and decided to use it to do one. Using an xzacto knife I cut out the pink fireweed from fused interfacing which I then ironed onto the print.

Then, I chose a black and white to border it.

I'm going to add piano keys to onesie to start bring the whole piece to measure 17 by 17".

I also got the cow attached to the background and can now start some foreground dandelions.

My seedlings, some knitting, sketching and sewing

I’ve been stitching half square triangle blocks together into rows and then putting them together. It’s a bit slow going and I have to keep reminding myself there’s no hurry. It’s not for any baby as yet. Getting them done ahead feels good plus it gives me a chance to type out patterns that interest me. You have to focus on the twist to see this one. 

Everyday, I check my seed,inns pkanted a few weeks ago. I’ve already transplanted a few. There are 2 fennel plants, with delicate fronds, one on the top right and the other top left. They were getting witty and I repotted them.

The  few plants with the purplish veins below left are kohlrabi which I’ve never grown. To the top right is some chamomile.

These are broccoli rabe which will soon need replanting as will the kohlrabi.

I’ve got a few knitting projects on the go but this is the one furthest along. It’s a dk weight acrylic.I’ve made a YouTube video with more information and a few more projects. I mention that I really like the Drops design patterns but they can be vague with not enough detail about increasing and decreasing, and how to do it.

The cow is not attaché to the background yet. I’m currently Stitching with yellow thread for the dandelions. 

My energy levels have picked up since the time changed. I like the light at night. Afternoons and evenings are best for me. After my vaccine last week I was lagging for a few days and now I’ve picked up again. Today, it’s misty and cool out though and I notice it affects the mood. Sunshine is due later this week.

Yesterday, I packed  myself a light lunch, the camera, and my art kit, and went off for a drive exploring some roadways. Some of the trees are in bud but not too much is sprouting from the ground yet. 

I found an old quarry filled with water where the ice is only starting to melt around the edges.

I stopped there to sketch and wander around with the camera.

The colors are still pretty neutral. We know the new growth is happening though. Can’t wait.
